The invention relates to chemical compositions of plant protection and can be used in agriculture.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the stability of the active substance in herbicidal compositions based on the ammonium salts of imidazolinone nicotinic acid.
The free acids of these compounds can be described by the following formula

The subject of the invention is aqueous herbicidal compositions comprising a water-soluble imidazolinic acid salt of formula (1), a non-ionic surfactant and water (balance up to 100%) buffered with a sufficient amount of acid so that their initial pH is within 6-8 ,five.
According to the invention, the stability of the aqueous compositions of the water-soluble imidazolinic acid salts of formula (1) over time, as well as their resistance to elevated temperatures, increase when the initial value of their pH is stabilized with a sufficient amount of mineral or water-soluble organic acid that is equivalent to the pH of the acid of formula (1) Generally in the range of about 6-8.5, preferably 7-7.5. Preferred acids for use in the inventive compositions are hydrochloric, phosphoric, sulfuric, acetic, propionic.
The addition of urea to an aqueous composition in accordance with the invention as antifreeze in an amount of 15-2 0 wt. % also improves their performance during freezing and thawing, in the sense that the solid material formed during freezing is easily dissolved again when standing. The use of urea to stabilize the aqueous compositions of pyrazole salts at low temperatures is known. Surfactants suitable for use in the compositions according to the invention are generally non-ionic surfactants. Preferred of these are polyoxyethylene glycols, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurates and cyalkylphenoxy-polyethyleneoxyethanols.
Salts of compounds of formula (1) that can be used in the proposed compositions are salts with sufficient solubility in water. Sodium, potassium, ammonium salts and water-soluble organic ammonium salts are preferred, sodium, potassium, ammonium and sodium salts are most preferred. isoproximate salts.
Example 1. Preparation of aqueous herbicidal compositions of imidazolyl acid salts.
